Who Is Bob Iger

Bob Iger is the current and former CEO of Disney. He served as CEO from 2005 to 2020 when his successor, Bob Chapek took over as CEO. In November of 2022, Bob Chapek was fired and Iger came back to return as CEO, he plans to stay as CEO of the company until 2024 to try and fix things from the way Chapek left things. During his time as CEO, he acquired Pixar in 2006, Marvel Entertainment in 2009, Lucasfilm in 2012, and 21st Century Fox in 2019 for Disney. He also launched streaming services such as ESPN+ in 2018 and Disney+ in 2019. Iger has also been on the board of directors for Apple but left that position due to possible conflicts of interest with Apple’s streaming service Apple TV+.

Bob Iger has been in multiple articles featuring CEOs. He has been in Fobes Magazine as one of the “World’s Most Powerful People,”(2006) and “Top Gun CEOs”(2009). He was one of Fortune Magazine’s “25 Most Powerful People in Business,”(2006, 2007) “CEO of the Year” by Chief Executive (2014), one of the “Best CEOs” in Institutional Investor magazine (2008 - 2011), and MarketWatch CEO of the Year from MarketWatch (2006).
